Meshes in the Afternoon – Maya Deren
by GB on Nov.08, 2009, under Uncategorized
One of the strongest influences on my filmmaking career is Maya Deren. My thesis film in grad school was a virtual emulation of her aesthetics. Blah. Blah. Blah. If you haven’t seen her work and you love the art of filmmaking, you should get her collection.
Cyber Security Awareness Week and Jahrain
by GB on Nov.08, 2009, under Uncategorized
NYU’s Polytechnic Institute has sponsored a cyber security contest and our very own Jahrain Jackson is one of the finalists! So he has taken a break from animating this week to concentrate on winning this national challenge.
His team is up against teams from Cal Poly, NYU – Poly, Carnegie Mellon, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, DePaul University, and University of Texas
Good luck Jahrain!
Still banging away
by GB on Nov.04, 2009, under Uncategorized
The movie is still getting made. Music is flowing like dewdrops on a hot humid morn from Shelley and Dave. Wildly winding sound effects are being built by Murphy and Scott. The animation crew, yours truly, Matt, Bobby, Kali, Kim, Janelle, and Jahrain have been beaten up by an early run in with flu season, but we are coming out of being down with a fierce burst of neurocardiopsychedelia. Images to follow.
